Asquith is a thriving primary school located in Morley on the southern edge of the city of Leeds.

The position of Head Teacher at Asquith is an exciting opportunity.

Our new Headteacher will join a school with excellent foundations and ambitious plans for the future. A key priority will be establishing a culture of high standards and exceptional outcomes; you’ll be leading an innovative and experienced staff group, with a strong collaborative ethos and a shared vision for teaching and learning. We are looking for and individual who is flexible, optimistic and able to turn your hand to anything, your leadership style won’t rely on hierarchy to be effective.

The inspirational and creative leader that we seek will continue the improvement journey with staff, parents and governors to give the children at Asquith the best quality education it can, using established strengths and making changes in a collaborative manner with our dedicated school team.

Our current Ofsted rating is good in all areas and the school requires a Headteacher who will continue to support our upward journey towards excellence.

We want our new Headteacher to take on the challenge of the governors' ambition to create a dynamic learning environment in which our children are engaged, enjoy learning and aspire to do their very best and achieve their potential. Our vision is to develop happy, well rounded, confident and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential and become independent life-long learners. Asquith provides a welcoming, safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal, valued and all achievements are celebrated.

We can offer you:

  • A dedicated, hardworking and caring staff team and a committed governing body
  • Happy, motivated and creative children who enjoy learning in a safe and positive environment
  • Supportive and caring parents and community
  • A supportive Local Authority including Learning Improvement advisors, consultants and other services. Strong partnerships with other schools, we are part of the Morley Primary Partnership.

Our children and community are looking for someone who will be:

  • An experienced, creative and innovative leader who puts children and the community at the centre of their vision
  • Passionate about primary education and who will ensure an enriched and high-quality curriculum which delivers high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour
  • An excellent communicator who is self-motivated to create and maintain excellence in teaching with high expectations for all pupils and staff
  • Able to develop the leadership skills of others and create strong and effective working relationships with staff, governors, and other partnerships
  • Committed to working with our community in an inclusive way, to achieve the best for all pupils and raising aspirations
