The Governing Board of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools is seeking to appoint an experienced school leader to the post of Headteacher from January 2023. The post holder will have the ambition, values and vision to lead the school on the next stage of its journey to educational excellence. This is an exceptional opportunity for leadership within the supportive context of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools. As Headteacher you will have autonomy in all aspects of the leadership and management of Prendergast Vale School within the overall policies and structures of the Federation.

We are looking for an experienced school leader with an open, transparent and collaborative style who has the skills, drive and ambition to build upon the achievements to date and to further develop teaching and learning and the wide range of educational and co-curricular opportunities that our students enjoy.

Prendergast Vale School is an all-through school for 3 to 16 year olds in the heart of Lewisham. It has 814 students on roll and is part of The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools. Being part of a successful Federation of Schools, located in easy travelling distance of each other, enables the schools to support each other and share best practice and resources. The new Headteacher will be part of the Federation’s Executive team and will benefit from the support and collegiality of the team.

Prendergast Vale is a small school within a big community. As a member of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools, we are stronger together. The Leathersellers’ Federation of schools is made up of a group of three secondary and two primary schools as well as Prendergast 6th Form.  We are very fortunate to be part of the Federation and receive a lot of support from the Leathersellers’ Company, which helps our pupils succeed.
