Are you our new Headteacher?

We are looking for a Headteacher to lead and further develop Kestrel House School. We are a small and friendly independent special educational needs school for pupils aged 4-16 who have autism, additional learning difficulties and complex needs. The calm, friendly & happy atmosphere at Kestrel House is maintained through a holistic and therapeutic approach to each one of its pupils, via a knowledgeable team of specialists and experts in autism and associated conditions. 

About the role

The team at Kestrel House School are passionate that each child’s personal development is enhanced through meaningful, appropriate and individual approaches to their specific needs. The well-resourced and dedicated team of patient, kind and understanding staff includes a clinical psychologist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist and a music therapist.

As Headteacher, you will provide inspirational and motivational leadership and a primary focus on quality. You will set strategy, working with the team to balance therapeutic and educational initiatives, delivering a multi-disciplinary approach that maintains a fun and nurturing environment whilst achieving for the children.

Working with the Assistant Director of Education and Governors, you will ensure the school has effective management and the required team capability to further develop and continually improve.

You will be joining an experienced and committed staff team and will have the opportunity to help set the direction of our successful school that is unique in its region.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to hear from experienced Headteachers or rising Senior Leaders with experience of inspiring multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outstanding learning for children and young people with special education needs.

We are looking for someone who knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families. An excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for Kestrel House School, and will have demonstrable experience of working in partnership with parents, commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders.

Salary commensurate with skills & experience + Teachers Pension
