About us

Due to the retirement of our current Head Teacher, the board of governors is able to offer this exciting opportunity for an inspirational and enthusiastic Head Teacher to join us and lead our school into the next stage of its success.

We are a large junior school in north Luton, serving a multi-cultural community. We are very proud of our school and the vibrant and diverse community it serves.

We are looking for a Head Teacher who will:

  • Be an inspirational leader, able to motivate and empower all staff and students, with substantial recent senior leadership experience in an appropriate school or similar setting.
  • Be visible and accessible, engaging positively with children, staff, parents, Governors, and the community.
  • Prioritise the wellbeing, resilience and achievements of all children and staff and put this at the heart of all decisions.
  • Be prepared to provide challenge to established ways of working and demonstrate vision and agility in decision-making in order to move the school forward.
  • Demonstrate a robust, innovative, and realistic approach to financial planning and a proven ability to manage financial and human resources effectively and efficiently.

In return we offer:

  • Confident, happy children, who enjoy their time in school and are eager to learn and succeed.
  • Talented, enthusiastic, professional staff who are open to development and new ideas and a committed and supportive Governing Body.
  • A great location and a well-resourced learning and working environment.
  • A thriving school community with supportive parents and an active PTA.
  • An opportunity to make a real difference and help us become an exemplar of the highest quality education provision in our area.

We believe that a diverse workforce leads to an organisation that is more innovative, more creative and gets better results. We want our workforce to represent the diversity of the people and communities we serve. We also want our workplace to be one where different experiences, expertise and perspectives are valued, and where everyone is encouraged to grow and develop. This means that when we are recruiting, we actively seek to reach a diverse pool of candidates. It also means that we are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that potential employees may need in order to be successful.

We expect candidates to visit the school as part of this application process, and we have allocated Monday, 20th June at 09:30 am and Wednesday, 6th July at 1:30 pm for these visits to take place, which will last approximately 1hr 30 minutes. If you cannot make either of these dates/times, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please contact the School Business Manager, Mrs Jan Thompson, on 01582 591386 to arrange your visit.

Closing date: Sunday 26th June 2022 (11:59pm)

Interview date: Monday 11th July 2022
