Job overview

This is not a Wiltshire Council vacancy therefore please contact Marlborough St Mary’s CE VC Primary School direct for further information.

On the retirement of our current Headteacher the governors of Marlborough St Mary’s CE VC primary school are looking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational leader with the skills, knowledge, experience and drive to inspire staff and children to reach their fullest potential.

The ideal candidate will have a clear, focused vision to take the school forward and the practical skills to turn that vision into a reality.  You will be an experienced and demonstrative leader, with strong communication and people skills.  You will analyse data effectively and be an excellent classroom practitioner, ready and willing to lead by example, and to challenge, coach and mentor where necessary but also to empower and develop others.  You will uphold our strong Christian ethos which permeates the school.

Marlborough St Mary’s is a welcoming, aspirational and inclusive two form entry CofE primary school.  It is set in the heart of the lovely market town of Marlborough, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in a brand-new state of the art purpose-built building.  It includes a 20-place resource base for children with complex needs and caters for families from a broad spectrum. Although extensive SEND experience is not essential, as you will be supported by an experienced team, a passion for inclusion to all is, as well as a keen interest in the field.

We have a committed staff team and children who are kind and polite and who love to learn.  Our new Headteacher will enjoy the autonomy of leadership rooted in the local community, whilst working in partnership with the staff, governing body, Local Authority and Diocese of Salisbury.

Marlborough St Mary’s was rated “Good” in all areas by Ofsted in 2019, is financially secure and ready to fly! This is a fabulous position for a successful, committed, and experienced professional who is looking to further shape the school, raising standards whilst ensuring that the school’s happy and nurturing environment and place at the heart of the community is maintained.
