Hobart High School is a popular and thriving 11-16 school actively seeking to build on its success by appointing a permanent Head of School with the vision to take it from Good to Outstanding. We are the founding Academy of Clarion Academy Trust with around 700 students. We serve a rural community in an attractive location in south Norfolk close to the Norfolk Broads and the ‘Fine City’ of Norwich.

Building on an excellent foundation, Trustees and Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader with strategic awareness and excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

You will be:

Based in Norfolk, Hobart High School is a coeducational secondary school for children aged between 11 and 16. It is a non-denominational establishment. The school gained academy status in 2013. There are currently around 736 students enrolled at the school. It is situated in the town of Loddon in Norwich.

Values and Vision

Hobart High School aims to give every student a fun and stimulating education. It values pupils who participate in extra-curricular and enrichment activities. The aim of these clubs and programmes is to make sure pupils develop new skills and broaden their knowledge. Development in all areas is encouraged, not just academically. The school push the children to grow in confidence by taking part in school productions. This has range from Grease to Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde in the past. The academy also gives the pupils the opportunity to travel abroad. Those studying German in year nine tend to go to Paris, while those attending science club get the chance to go to Carlton Marshes.

“Teaching is good, with some outstanding. Teachers have high expectations of students and develop good working relationships in the classroom. Students enjoy being at school. Their behaviour in lessons and around the school is good. Students have positive attitudes towards their learning. Students feel safe and have a clear understanding of how to stay safe. Bullying is rare and dealt with quickly. Students receive good information, advice and guidance, which help them to make well-informed decisions about future employment, education and training. The headteacher is ably supported by his senior leadership team. They have a deep understanding of the school’s strengths and areas for development. The governing body and senior leaders have a clear vision for improvement in the school.”
