Job overview
Carnagill Community Primary School sits in the heart of Catterick Garrison, the largest Garrison town in Europe. The Garrison itself boasts a 100 acre nature reserve just a short walk from the school gates and is surrounded by the outstanding natural beauty of the North Yorkshire Dales National Park. Transport connections are excellent, with the A1(M) just 5 miles away. We enjoy the benefits of much recent community development in the Garrison and close relationships with both military and civilian organisations in the area.
Richmondshire is recognised as one of the most beautiful areas within the Yorkshire Dales and lies within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Moors, Pennines and Lake District. Covering over 500sqm, it is actually one of the most sparsely populated areas in the country with plenty of space for someone wanting to live and work in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Rated by Ofsted as Good (2014), we are a happy, welcoming, friendly and thriving school where behaviour is good and our children are at the centre of everything we do.
Resilient and innovative, you must have the ability to raise standards, improve the quality of teaching and learning and work well with the wider school community (including the MoD) to raise aspirations and improve parental engagement. We have a highly mobile community and so you must also be able to adapt to the challenges this brings.
We are rightly proud of our school and need a Headteacher who has the experience, skills and vision to shape our improvement plan, oversee the continued development of our curriculum and, above all, ensure pupils make the best possible progress over time.
To be successful, you must be able to provide strong, clear leadership and inspire and support staff, ensuring they continue to develop and feel part of a valued team. In addition, you must be able to analyse and communicate key data and control the budget.
We believe we are a school with unique challenges and opportunities. If you are ready for this challenge you’ll be rewarded by working with a truly progressive and supportive governing body and dedicated staff, in an environment which positively engages parents and inspires happy enthusiastic children.
We would love you to come for a visit and experience our unique school for yourself. Please contact Debbie Bell, Senior Administrator on 01748 833622 to make an appointment or email: admin@carnagill.n-yorks.sch.uk
