We are looking for an individual who will lead our school with vision, passion and positivity.  An innovative thinker who will inspire and lead their team to deliver outstanding results.

Set in the North Yorkshire town of Tadcaster, Tadcaster Grammar School is a mixed comprehensive school of 1545 students aged 11-18.  Situated in attractive woodland grounds, the student population is drawn from a wide geographical area.  The School is part of The STAR MAT; a Multi-Academy Trust established in May 2018, currently comprising 9 schools (1 secondary and 8 primary).  The Trust includes both Church of England and community schools.

Rated ‘good’ by OFSTED, Tadcaster Grammar School was ranked by the Sunday Times in both 2017 and 2018 as one of the top 20 state schools in the North of England.  Through our “culture of excellence” we pride ourselves in offering all our students the opportunity for high academic achievement, vocational opportunities and personal fulfilment through a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities.  We also have very strong guidance and pastoral care systems which ensure that all students are valued and supported.

Building on the strong progress firmly established over the last few years, we are seeking to appoint a motivated individual with vision, dedication and the highest aspirations for all members of the school community, who will build on our achievements and continue our drive to be outstanding in every way.

To succeed, you must be a strong communicator and have the ability to forge and promote positive relationships with all staff, students, parents and carers.  You will be committed to the personal moral and social development of our students as well as to the very highest academic standards, within the context of our ethos and values.

You must be financially astute, possessing the skills to build partnerships, while delivering an outstanding educational provision that is sustainable for the long term.  In addition, you must be able to interpret and use data to drive performance, and manage resources while ensuring our friendly, caring culture is maintained.

You will lead highly committed, experienced and loyal staff and have strong relationships with Governors, Trustees, other Headteachers, the wider education community.

In return, we can offer you strong support, the opportunity to help shape the future of our School and continued professional development.  You will be supported by skilled, professional and experienced leadership team.
