Job overview

Crayke Church of England VC Primary School is a happy, lively and highly successful school situated 12 miles to the north of the City of York and just 2 miles east of the thriving market town of Easingwold. Currently rated as Outstanding by Ofsted (2012) and SIAMS (2018), we are at the heart of our community, with a clear vision for the future and serve children from a number of local villages. A popular and oversubscribed school in a lovely village, we have excellent facilities including large and attractive outdoor spaces.

We are proud of our fully inclusive model of education, enabling all children to fulfil their full potential whatever their starting points. Our distinctive Christian ethos and core values of Respect, Friendship, Forgiveness and Determination support this model and are lived out in the daily work of the school.

Currently, the role has a 0.4 fte teaching commitment which may vary dependent on changing needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to provide strategic leadership and direction while building upon the high standards already in place. This will mean a strong focus on outstanding teaching and learning, ensuring every pupil makes best possible progress, curriculum development and implementation, and forging ever closer relationships with parents and carers and the wider school community.
An outstanding teaching practitioner able to set and achieve ambitious goals, you will continually seek to raise standards and promote our vision and Christian values in a way that is relevant and inspiring to all.

A proven senior leader and effective communicator, you must have the ability to motivate, inspire and influence our children, staff and the wider school community. A good understanding of SEND is desirable.

In return, you will benefit from strong governor, local authority and diocese support, a highly committed, experienced and loyal staff and ongoing CPD opportunities.

We very much welcome school visits.
