Our school is located in a lovely semi-rural setting in the County Town of Northallerton, near the railway station and County Hall. Our school serves a desirable private residential estate and Northallerton’s surrounding Villages. The School has easy access to the good road links of the A1 and A19. Our school has close contacts with their community and have a thriving PTA who support the school. The school has ‘out of hours’ provision provided by a private company on site. We are well supported by our North Yorkshire County Council Senior Education Advisor.

The children, staff, parents, our governing body and our community are proud of our school where children are engaged in their learning and despite the recent pandemic are enthusiastic learners with the potential to make rapid progress. Our school can build on its many strengths and achievements under a new Headteacher, our School staff have an accurate understanding of the current levels of achievement and are committed to making sure the children make the necessary progress. Our Governing body have a good understanding of the strengths and areas for development of the school and very much look forward with working with the new Headteacher

Our school needs to continue to develop ever-stronger links with the governing body, parents and staff who actively support the school and you will need to maintain and develop the relationships which the school has built with the wider communities.

The new Headteacher will be required to commit and concentrate on:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lead and support a long-standing staff team
  • A demonstrable track record of raising standards with the ambition, skills, and experience to lead a school.
  • Vision, dedication and the highest aspirations for all members of the school community.
  • Strong communication skills as you will need the ability to forge and promote positive relationships with all staff and our large and diverse parent/family community
  • Financially astute with the ability to interpret and use data to drive performance and manage resources
  • Passionate about the local area
