Pickering Community Junior School is set in a lovely, rural location. It is well maintained, has excellent facilities and motivated staff. We benefit from being surrounded by beautiful grounds which include a playing field and a mixed surface games area. The school has a welcoming atmosphere and extremely well-behaved children.

Pickering Community Junior School’s motto is “To Care” and this is fundamental to all of the work that we do. This is expanded in our school values which epitomise the attitudes we foster towards one another and capture the pride we take in all aspects of our work. It also illustrates the inclusive nature of our teaching and wider school ethos.

As a strong communicator you will develop and build partnerships and networks and, with governors, consider the strategic direction of the school. You must possess the ability to motivate, influence and inspire pupils, staff and stakeholders while leading the development of the curriculum. You will strengthen performance to deliver outstanding provision which ensures the best outcomes for all our children.

Visible, approachable and resilient, you will also assume responsibility for all aspects of school life, including further engaging the wider community, developing partnerships and collaborative options particularly opportunities for future federation or academisation.
