The future of Penryn College
Penryn College has made the decision, along with some of its feeder primary schools to join together as the Kemeneth MAT, this is due to come into operation from 1st April 2018. Candidates will have the energy and ambition to guide Penryn College through this next stage of growth and strategic development, working with the CEO, MAT Headteachers and Board of Trustees to set the direction of the Kemeneth MAT.
The successful candidate will be expected to evidence their ability to:
- Provide vision and dynamic and professional leadership for Penryn College to ensure high quality, inclusive and comprehensive education for all its students.
- Work with the CEO, other Kemeneth MAT Headteachers and the Board of Trustees to influence the strategic direction of the Kemeneth MAT, share good practice across it and establish Penryn College within it.
- Ensure that learning is at the centre of strategic planning and resource management.
- Create and maintain an effective partnership with parents and carers to support and improve students’ achievement and personal development.
About Penryn College
Penryn College is a thriving, oversubscribed, high performing school with a reputation for excellent academic results, extra-curricular activities and inclusivity. The Area Resource Base (ARB) - for children with with special needs, and pastoral teams provide a welcoming and supportive environment for children of all abilities and is an area that the College is especially proud of. It also has a strong commitment to developing outstanding teachers and leaders and places great importance on working across the community and with other schools.
In 2008 Penryn College moved into a £24 million pound new school building, which has a great range of resources, including an information rich environment, state of the art sporting facilities including a 6 badminton court size sports hall, the latest generation astro turf pitch and our own climbing wall.
The College buildings and 10 acres of grounds are used extensively by the community for adult education courses, sporting activities, performances and fund raising activities. Our unique relationship with surrounding primary schools - known as the "Penryn Partnership" - helps primary children to settle in to the college whilst adjusting to their new environment.
