Job overview

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an ambitious and accomplished leader with a clear understanding of Catholic education. The successful candidate will be a practising Catholic who will build on the success of our school and lead the school into the next phase of development, which will include moving from Good to Outstanding.

We are an oversubscribed, high performing, co-educational school of 870 pupils, including a thriving Sixth Form of 130 students. Over the last 6 years we have significantly raised attainment, created a highly focussed learning environment that is supported by excellent pastoral care and become the school of choice for the local Catholic community.

We have been listed on the Sunday Times published list of the top 500 state schools in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and have been congratulated on our success by a number of Education Ministers.

Our vision includes raising levels of attainment across the whole school and growing our Sixth Form both in numbers and variety of subjects offered and maintaining and growing our extensive engagement with the local community, making full use of our facilities as both an opportunity to generate revenue and to be a focus for the local Catholic parishes.

We can offer you highly committed, enthusiastic and gifted teachers and support staff who are ambitious for our children.

For further details, or to arrange a visit, please contact Karyn Stiles, HR Officer on 0118 918 3806 or k.stiles@hughfaringdon.org

Closing date: 12 noon, Monday 10th October 2016
Interviews: 3rd/4th November 2016

All applications must be on the current CES application form and the successful candidate will be required to sign the CES contract.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
