Equally a variety of communication skills will enable you to handle any issues arising with staff, students and parents appropriately and deal confidently with the unexpected in supporting the Headteacher to maintain an efficient leadership operation of her role.

As a brand new school 5 years ago, some systems are well established and others require refining as the school matures and concludes its first year of major public exams. This role also includes some management of staff cover, for which an early start time is needed, but this can be arranged remotely.

Location

This is a new secondary fully-inclusive co-educational school, serving the communities of South and Central Croydon, established to meet an urgent rising local demand. Initially housed in temporary accommodation, the site for the ‘new build’ school is opposite Lloyd Park in South Croydon, with an excellent Tramlink service to and from East Croydon station (just 5 minutes’ journey-time away) and a short walk from several bus routes. Over £35 million is being invested in building a state-of-the-art school which will include enhanced sports facilities, comprising a competition-sized sports hall, a full-size 3G artificial surface and aspirations to include a closed circuit cycle track (CRC) and 8-lane athletics track.

About us – context, location and buildings 

This fully inclusive secondary co-educational school was established in 2018 to meet an urgent rising local demand. 

The site of our new building and extensive grounds is opposite Lloyd Park in South Croydon, with an excellent Tramlink service to and from East Croydon station (just 5-minute journey-time away,) and a short walk from several bus routes. 

Our £35 million building and facilities offer specialist teaching spaces for all subjects including Music, Dance, Drama, Science, Design Technology and Art. In addition, students benefit from indoor and outdoor auditoriums, a brand new Health Related Fitness building offering dedicated health and well-being studios and competition-sized spaces for gymnastics, netball, football and basketball. The school is set in spacious parkland grounds which offer a range of outdoor learning opportunities across all subject areas.
