Job overview

HEADTEACHER’S PERSONAL ASSISTANT

Scale 3A points 19 – 23 (£24,799 – £26,999)

36 hours per week all year round (negotiable)

• Do you have excellent communication and office skills?

• Can you cope well with multi-tasking and changing demands to your priorities?

• Are you a natural problem solver with leadership skills?

• Can you rapidly build up and maintain good relationships with all staff?

• Do you want to work in a fast paced environment where you are never clock-watching?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

The Governors of this small friendly high school are looking to appoint an intelligent and committed Personal Assistant to join our pleasant and helpful support staff team from September 2019.   You will be expected to deliver a professional and efficient service including all aspects of secretarial and administration duties on behalf of the Headteacher.

The successful candidate should be a flexible, motivated individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability and initiative to work independently.  The Headteacher’s PA receives a substantial, varied though interesting workload and we are looking for a resourceful, articulate and presentable person who is able to respond and prioritise tasks effectively.  Experience of working as a senior administrator / PA within a school environment would be an advantage, but qualities such as foresight, discretion, trustworthiness and good interpersonal skills are equally important.

The successful applicant will also act as Clerk to the Governors which will involve preparing for and minuting all calendared governors meetings outside of the school day (approximately 6 meetings per term).

This is a significant post within the school, requiring the ability to work well under pressure with confidentiality.

Application forms should be returned by email to Mrs J Gregory at jenny.gregory@salford.gov.uk

Closing date for applications: Monday 22nd July at 9am

Interviews to be held: Wednesday 24th July

All Hallows RC High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  These posts are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

All Hallows Roman Catholic High School is proud to fall under the Diocese of Salford a mixed comprehensive secondary school situated in and serving the families and communities of the inner city Salford.  We are a Catholic school, not only in name but also in character and ethos, and we believe that you will sense this in all of your contacts with people here.

We moved to a new modern state of the art building in September 2014 after outgrowing our previous site in Weaste Lane. We are a smaller than average secondary school and offer 742 places for students between the ages of 11 and 16 when fully subscribed, our  small size and our excellent pastoral system of care allow us to get to know and support our pupils very well.

At All Hallows we aim to provide a broad and balanced education for all our pupils, resulting in the highest possible academic achievement, a full awareness of personal and social responsibility and a commitment to gospel values through the teachings of the Catholic church.

The school lies in the heart of the community, close to Salford Cathedral and the River Irwell a stones through away from Salford Quays and its iconic Media City UK, also on the doorstep of Manchester city centre with easy access to the M60, M61, M62, M6, M56 and with great rail and tram links.  All Hallows attracts its staff from a wide geographic area.

We are lucky to have a committed and established staff with little staff turnover, vacancies here at All Hallows are rare. As an employer of choice we welcome visits from prospective employees, once you have been through our doors and experienced our warm and welcoming environment we are confident that you will want to work with us.
