Thank you for your interest in the role of Headteacher at Marshside Primary School, the little school with a big heart and big ambitions.

Following the announcement of the retirement of our current Headteacher we are looking for a leader who can continue to inspire, motivate and lead the school and identify, develop and implement any changes that may be needed to achieve our vision and ambition.

Marshside is a well-established community school that has been at the heart of the local area for more than 40 years. We are a smaller than average school but we view this positively. Each one of our children is known individually to all staff in a deep and meaningful sense, and hence they are encouraged and enabled to develop to be the best they can be in all aspects of their development.

We have recently refreshed our school values as part of our wish to be seen and felt to be at the Heart of our local community.

Helping us further embed these values as something that are seen, experienced and felt by all involved in the school is a key part of what we want you to come and help us achieve.

As with most schools, we do face financial challenges, and changes in our intake could have significant impact on the school budget. Nonetheless, in recent years we have appropriately managed our budget without having to make any staffing reductions. This, amongst a range of other things, including a strong Governing Body who provide a wide range of expertise and valuable experiences, has meant the school has been able to deliver the good education our children deserve.

What do we see as our next steps?

We want to ensure the long term future of the school and to continue to provide our children with a stable and safe environment, where learning is inspirational and helps them achieve more than they and others might have thought at the outset was possible.

We want to build on substantial recent improvements and to create an environment where all school staff feel able to develop to excellence and are open to this challenge.

This is a great time to join a school with strong foundations. It has benefited from several years of strong leadership provided by our current Headteacher. The post offers considerable, exciting opportunities for you to make a significant impact as our new Headteacher to help us achieve our vision and ambition for our children, staff and the wider school community.
