Headteacher

Job start September 2020
Salary: L30(£83,757) to L37 (99,424), over £100,000 dependent on experience

If you have the vision, the drive and the ambition we can offer an unparalleled opportunity to lead our school on its rapid journey of improvement.

St. John Fisher Catholic Academy is an 11-19 school with 1200 students on roll, we are part of the Blessed Peter Snow Catholic Academy Trust. This is a very exciting time for our Trust as we prepare to grow, becoming a trust of 16 Schools in 2020.

We are a Catholic community and strive to uphold strong spiritual and moral values, both in and outside the classroom. The School’s work is guided by the highest principles. It is our intention that the Catholicity of the school will be seen in our work with all who come into contact with it.

Life in the school is not without its challenges. In recent years there have been changes in leadership and an inspection in May 2019 indicated that the school needed to improve. This has provided powerful stimulus to the school community and we have acted strongly in response to the inspection. There have been significant changes in leadership, professional practice and in the culture of the school. We are now confident of our future as we work to create a good and eventually an outstanding school.

The Directors are seeking to appoint a Headteacher who:

  • is a practising Catholic
  • is an inspirational leader with a clear vision for the future of the school, building on its current capacity
  • will lead by example, with a ‘can-do’ attitude that can inspire commitment from students, staff and the local community
  • Who will work collaboratively with the other Trust schools as we expand
  • has a proven track record of implementing changes and raising standards in teaching and learning, within a consistent, caring, accountable ethos

About St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy

Welcome!

As Headteacher, I am proud and honoured to welcome you to St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the Blessed Peter Snow Academy Trust.

As a Catholic secondary academy, we offer a unique education which places Christ at the centre of everything we do.

It is our mission as a Catholic academy to bear witness by putting Faith into action. Our CARE values – Commitment, Aspiration, Respect and Excellence form part of daily school life.

St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy is a place where all are valued for who they are and where they see themselves going. In partnership with our families, we will guide our young people on a journey that is both spiritual and academic. Together we will shape them into young adults who are true to themselves and who acknowledge their individual worth as being made in the image and likeness of God.

“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” John 10:10

This is an exciting time to be a part of our community as we are on a rapid journey of improvement and are introducing a range of exciting new opportunities for our students.

We very much look forward to what the future holds for our Academy and most importantly, our students.
