Job overview
Following the retirement of the current Headteacher, we are looking to appoint a highly skilled, professional, education leader, who is passionate about inclusion, to provide strategic leadership for Suffolk County Council's successful and growing specialist education services.
Our Suffolk SEND Strategy has a strong commitment to early intervention and we see the further growth and development of our specialist outreach and inclusion services as being a central part of this vision. In this role, you will lead the support and challenge programme that enables our mainstream schools to develop their specialist skills and capacity to meet the needs of the diverse range of children and young people with SEND. You will also develop the service's traded offer to schools building on the strong foundations already established by the existing leader.
As a high calibre candidate, you will bring a combination of education expertise and management acumen to the team. You will already have gained experience in senior roles across a range of educational settings, with a particular emphasis on SEND and inclusion within mainstream schools, with a track record of quality first teaching. You will be able to operate at a strategic level and manage complex relationships and partnerships, offering appropriate support and challenge. Through your previous roles, you will have gained the skills and experience to be a credible leader for our highly capable team of specialist service managers.
In Suffolk, we are committed to building an Inclusion Service that is among the best and most innovative in England. Our management team is passionate about transforming the experiences of Suffolk children, young people and their families. If you share our values and ambitions, we would love you to join our team. You will need to have the highest standards, be able to deliver change quickly and be willing to give your all. In return, you will have the satisfaction of being part of a strong and vibrant service that makes a real difference for children and young people every day.
