Job overview

Welcome to Dollis Primary School! If your next career step up is to lead a school where you can make an immediate impact and leave a lasting legacy then we are just what you’re looking for.

Dollis Primary is a new school, created by the merger last April of long-standing Infant and Junior schools that share a single site. Your job will be to forge a single-school culture that can rise to the challenge set by governors to improve pupil outcomes as rapidly as possible.

This is a role for an inspirational and driven leader who demands excellence and is impatient for sustainable success. You must share the Governing Body’s philosophy that our duty to our pupils to ensure they achieve their full potential is sacrosanct. Dollis Primary has a challenging intake with high EAL levels and significant deprivation, but we are totally committed to the belief that, when children leave our school, they are primed for the next stage of their learning, having grown within a nurturing and supportive community.

As Dollis Primary transitions from three-form entry to two over the coming years, we will be also looking to improve our site on the edge of the Mill Hill conservation area in the London Borough of Barnet.

So, if you can demonstrate experience of leading major school improvement and wish to make your mark through dynamic leadership that embeds continually rising standards, please do get in touch.

Candidates who wish to visit the school are very welcome. We have set aside two sessions led by Steve Lee, Acting Head, in January – Tuesday 14th at 9:30, and Wednesday 15th at 1:30 – so that all candidates have the opportunity to see our school in action. Please email sbm@dollisprimary.com  to book your preferred option.

You are also welcome to book an informal chat with our Chair of Governors, Ian Phillips, by contacting Leana Hook, during term time, on 020 8959 8881 ext 108 or at sbm@dollisprimary.com

Application packs can be downloaded from www.dollisprimary.com/aboutus/vacancies.

Completed forms should be submitted to sbm@dollisprimary.com  by noon on Monday 27th January 2020.

As an equal opportunities’ employer, we welcome applications from all sections of the community, including persons with disabilities, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion. The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the Person Specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Closing date:  12 noon, Monday 27th January 2020

Interview: Wednesday 12th February 2020 and, if necessary, Thursday 13th February 2020

CV’s will NOT be accepted.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
