 The children, staff, parents and governors of Chisenhale Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to become our new Head, due to the impending retirement of our existing Headteacher. 

 Chisenhale is in the heart of Bow, Tower Hamlets. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive community school, which sits at the heart of the community we serve. We are culturally, ethnically and socially very mixed and we celebrate our diversity, as well as working to bring the community together through our shared vision. We are a vibrant and active school with a strong creative curriculum and a passion for making learning fun! We are passionate about developing our children as successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens, who are learning together for a better future.    

Our children come from a variety of backgrounds and many of them have challenging home lives. Despite this, children thrive at Chisenhale and truly enjoy coming every day to learn. Attendance is high, as are our results. 

 Our staff are a stable, cohesive team who work together really well. Our wider community makes exciting and valuable contributions to school life.

We are looking for a leader who will embrace our strengths, build on these and inspire colleagues and pupils alike to achieve their highest standards.

Our new Headteacher will: 

  • be passionate about children’s learning and keen to see all children inspired to succeed  
  • be able to build upon the current achievements and continue to raise standards 
  • have excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills with a dynamic strategic leadership style, a strong character and good sense of humour
  • have the credibility and emotional intelligence to engage with senior leaders, staff, children and a range of partners to lead a long term programme that will build on existing strengths to deliver an exemplary education for our pupils
  • have a  commitment to the highest standards of teaching
  • have the ability to continue to nurture a ‘love of learning’ and to develop the continued  professional development throughout the school
  • have successfully led an improvement agenda which has led to raising attainment and achievement. You will recognise our achievements, have the analytical skills to see the challenges and the experience to intervene where necessary
  • have vision, commitment and high expectation, leading by example
  • be outstanding at motivating and managing staff and building on the strong links with the local community
