Headteacher

Salary:   Outer London L33 – L39 (£95,975- £110,584)

Required for 1st September 2022

George Mitchell School is a thriving all-through 4-16 school, situated in Leyton at the heart of a diverse and rapidly changing community. The vacancy arises due to the retirement of the current Head after eight years of successful leadership.

The school has benefited from substantial recent investment in its buildings, with both secondary and primary phases in brand-new accommodation.

George Mitchell’s students are ambitious and hard-working - they embody the school motto that ‘more is in me’ by meeting high aspirations and embracing the range of opportunities extended to them, both during and beyond the school day. This is illustrated by excellent examination results and also by the students’ maturity and sense of responsibility, community, and fun.

The school is part of a supportive Multi-Academy Trust – Partnership Learning – which includes 10 other schools across east and north-east London. The heads of these schools work collaboratively to support each other in raising achievement.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established school through the next stage of its development, with the help of a committed senior team and a supportive professional community.

The ideal candidate will have successful experience of senior management in a mainstream primary or secondary setting and will be committed to maximising pupil outcomes.

He or she will be supported in post by:

 successful partner primary and secondary provisions

 a strong and committed governing body

 an experienced, supportive Trust team

George Mitchell School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
