This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take over the leadership of our outstanding two form entry school. Opened in 2013 with children currently in Reception to Year 3, we are situated in the heart of Tooting providing a secure, happy and aspirational learning environment for our local community.    

Outcomes to date have been exceptional and our first Ofsted inspection judged us outstanding in all areas. A well-qualified body of staff is motivated to achieve exceptional outcomes for pupils, and parents hold the school in high regard. We also benefit from an ASD base which is equipped with state-of-the-art resources and a fully inclusive curriculum, for up to 20 pupils.    

We are part of the Graveney Trust and benefit from many opportunities for sharing both expertise and resources both within and outside the curriculum. 

To be successful, you will have a successful track record of leadership and management at a very senior level, and ideally will be an existing headteacher. Furthermore, we will look to you to be an outstanding classroom practitioner, with a passion for working with children as well as experience of working with children with SEN. 

As a skilled communicator who can work effectively with all stakeholders, you will be excited by the challenges of seeing our school through the second phase of its development, with the opening up of years 4, 5 and 6 and have the personal and professional qualities required to develop the vision and ethos of the school within the wider Trust framework.

About Tooting Primary School

Tooting Primary School, London, is a free, mixed, primary school for children aged 4-11, founded by the Graveney Trust.

The school, which was established to address what was a significant shortfall of primary places in the area, opened in September 2013 with two full cohorts of Reception pupils. By September 2014, it was heavily oversubscribed.  As well as on site provision, the school also have access to facilities at Graveney School.

Tooting Primary School is split over three floors and is designed to cater for 63 children in each year group. The school is two-form entry with the facility to admit three ASD children into each year group. These children have access to a resource base with specialist staff and equipment, including a sensory pod.

Tooting Primary School’s pastoral care focuses on building self-esteem in the belief that this, in combination with careful planning, building good relationships and ensuring that the highest expectations are in place, will result in all pupils achieving to the highest level.  In addition to developing a robust, creative curriculum that will give pupils the opportunity to learn key skills in all academic areas, the school also aims to ensure that they develop a 'can-do' attitude towards life and learning.
