  • Lead practitioners to develop your teaching practice within school
  • Curriculum support to develop your expertise in your leaders
  • A senior leadership team who take care of your well being by: amalgamating all messages from many sources into one concise email available to all
  • We actively encourage heads to take a day week working from home
  • We offer remote meetings to save on travel and time
  • We hold fortnightly virtual meetings with all heads in the trust or with all heads in your region to share concerns, successes and news

We have nationally benchmarked assessments three times a year.

98% of our 29 primaries are Ofsted Good or better.

Our Trust average for the Year 2 phonics in December was over 88%.

We have lots of expertise and good practice to share.

Bewbush is one of our larger primary schools and has an experienced leadership team who are looking for a headteacher to take the school beyond Good.

Bewbush is a Thrive school and has the well-being of the children at the centre of a building that offers the resource the community deserves and needs.

If you want to be a headteacher who feels the support and embraces the challenge then apply.

Bewbush Primary Academy is a three-form primary school in Crawley and is one of six primaries within the Central region of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). Due to the retirement of our existing head, we are currently seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Headteacher who will build on the school’s existing strengths, to lead, motivate, develop, and inspire a school team that is passionately committed to giving pupils a wide range of real-life and enriching experiences.

Our academies are pivotal in ensuring our children get the best start in life, no matter what their background. As part of the TKAT network, we are committed to making sure that every child has access to an excellent education and real choices in life.

For this role, you will have demonstrable school leadership and management skills and experience, a commitment to professional development, and the personal qualities to build strong relationships with all stakeholders including parents, governors, and colleagues at all levels.

The Headteacher will be responsible for the leadership, organisation, management and control of the School whilst working in partnership with key providers. You will be expected to promote and safeguard the welfare of the pupils for whom the School and governing body are responsible and those with whom they come into contact; to ensure a high-quality education for pupils and high standards of achievement. We aim high, we broaden horizons, we develop confidence. Welcome to Bewbush”

The Bewbush Academy is an all-through primary school with extensive outdoor space, including large fields, a reading corner, adventure trails and a bug hotel! We currently have 20 classes; most year groups, with three classes. Our school serves an ethnically diverse population and we work closely with our families and the local community. Within school, every child and adult belongs to a house (Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, and Sapphire) and can earn house points for behaviour, attitude, effort and learning. Our Year 6 house and vice captains work hard to motivate their teams and weekly house point results are shared in our celebration assembly.

One aspect of learning we believe to be particularly important is that children experience things first hand, learning through talking and doing. To support this, we provide opportunities for interesting and varied lesson activities, which engage all types of learners.

We value educational visits and try to enable school trips for all of our children. These have ranged from a trip to Arundel Castle, exploring the Smugglers Caves in Hastings and travelling back to the Victorian times at Preston Manor. We also welcome visitors into our school to lead assemblies, perform puppet shows and run workshops. In addition, Bewbush Academy takes part in countless sporting events and hosts several after school clubs as part of our strong belief in enrichment outside of the classroom setting.

We believe that our children should be given every opportunity to thrive and develop their skills across the curriculum. This includes the children being taught by specialist P.E. coaches and a Music teacher as part of our PPA provision. We teach Literacy through Talk for Writing and expose our children to weekly problem solving in Maths.

The Bewbush Academy will support growing leaders as well as giving teachers the skills, knowledge and expertise to embark on the next stage of their career. We have a strong track record of supporting and developing NQTs and are part of the SCLP, who provide a variety of Literacy, Maths and Teaching & Learning training sessions.

We would like to appoint staff who will be team players, committed to our children and who enjoy life! We are seeking people who are creative, prepared to try new things and who believe that education is an all-round, holistic experience. We have high aspirations for all our pupils, encouraging them to fulfil their own dreams and ambitions.

If you are committed to aiming high, broadening horizons and developing children’s confidence, then we would love to hear from you - we would be very happy to show you around so that you can experience our thriving and vibrant school first hand.

The Bewbush Academy Team

The Bewbush Academy is committed to the principles of safeguarding for all, and equality of opportunity. Any successful candidate(s) will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
