Tanbridge House School is one of three 11–16 schools in Horsham. The other two schools are single-sex so Tanbridge finds itself in a special position as the only co-educational secondary school in the town. Most of our students go on to further education either at Collyers Sixth Form College or at local Colleges of Further Education. Tanbridge serves an affluent area where parental and student expectations are high.

Tanbridge is one of the best resourced schools in the country with new buildings and has been located on its purpose-built campus for just over thirteen years. It is looking to the future with confidence. It is one of the few secondary schools in the country to be expressly designed to meet the requirements of the national curriculum and to prepare for the hi-tech demands of the twenty-first century. It is a most congenial and stimulating place in which to work.

Academic results in public examinations are well above West Sussex and national averages. There is a school strategic plan and each department has its own annual development plan, which includes targets for improvement.

Tanbridge House was awarded Science, Mathematics & Computing Specialist College status in 2006.

Ofsted confirmed that our standards are outstanding and achievement is good across all elements of the school. We are now moving the school from being regarded as good to becoming outstanding.

The cornerstone of our school improvement plan is a commitment to develop all staff who work at Tanbridge to ensure that they have the skills they need in line with the priorities set in the plan. One member of the school’s leadership has a major responsibility for staff development, which includes an induction programme for new members of staff and for newly qualified teachers as well as a wide range of training and development activities.
