Job overview

The Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust is looking for an Outstanding Headteacher to join our family of improving schools

The successful candidate will be a welcoming, compassionate, highly motivated professional who can promote high expectations and aspirations at our academies and throughout the Trust, meeting new challenges and driving forward improvements in the academy. Being committed to excellence, you will be working in collaboration to build string partnerships with a range of stakeholders working across the Trust for the growth of thriving Christian learning communities, providing everyone with the opportunity to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Christian service is at the heart of all we do, as we help young people to develop excitement in learning and to live life to the full. We value everyone equally and demonstrate this through our words, actions, community life and the quality of the opportunities we provide.

St Bartholomew’s Primary Academy

We are a larger than average school in the town of Royal Wootton Bassett where numbers are steadily rising (NOR 336). School life at St Bartholomew's is safe and happy, inspiring and exciting!  It is a vibrant place, where enthusiasm bubbles from pupils, staff, and helpers, yet the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, as our children work hard to develop their learning skills, knowledge, and interests during the course of their school day.  St Bartholomew's is especially committed to promoting good behaviour so that the children get the very most from their learning, and school life can be enjoyed by everyone. In our latest SIAMs inspection we were graded as ‘Outstanding’. We have much to do as we look to improve our school further and look forward to welcoming our new Headteacher to lead us on our way.

Hand in hand we learn

It is our aspiration that every child is nurtured, challenged and empowered to ‘soar’ so that they may fulfil their true potential and become confident individuals with the appropriate knowledge and skills to enable them to succeed both now and in the future.

Our school is built upon a strong set of Christian values which ensure the children leave their primary school with a caring and respectful attitude towards others and a sense of the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships with those around them regardless of any differences they may have.

School life at St Bartholomew's is safe and happy, inspiring and exciting!  It is a vibrant place, where enthusiasm bubbles from pupils, staff, and helpers, and where colour and crafts adorn every wall and available surface.

Yet the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, as our children work hard to develop their learning skills, knowledge, and interests during the course of their school day.  St Bartholomew's is especially committed to promoting good behaviour so that the children get the very most from their learning, and school life can be enjoyed by everyone.
