The Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust is looking for an Outstanding Headteacher to join our family of improving schools

The successful candidate will be a welcoming, compassionate, highly motivated professional who can promote high expectations and aspirations at our academies and throughout the Trust, meeting new challenges and driving forward improvements in the academy. Being committed to excellence, you will be working in collaboration to build string partnerships with a range of stakeholders working across the Trust for the growth of thriving Christian learning communities, providing everyone with the opportunity to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Christian service is at the heart of all we do, as we help young people to develop excitement in learning and to live life to the full. We value everyone equally and demonstrate this through our words, actions, community life and the quality of the opportunities we provide.

Marden Vale CE Academy

We are a larger than average school in the town of Calne (NOR 292) with a Resource Base for children with complex needs. We continually strive for all of us to show our one school rule 'We all look after each other', at all times during our time in class, in school and in our lives outside of school. By following this rule and by having a positive ethos we are all committed to ensuring children have a wide array of learning experiences, helping children to attain to the best of their abilities, and develop them so they are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to become fantastic members of their community. In our recent SIAMS inspection, the school was graded as ‘Good’ in all areas. We are excited at the prospect of the next stage of our improvement journey, as we look to raise standards further under the leadership of our new headteacher.

'The school has a strong vision of care of pupils and their families and consequently this is a strength of the school, creating a loving Christian atmosphere in which all feel safe, respected and valued.' –  Marden Vale SIAMS report June 2016

About Marden Vale CE VC Primary Academy

Marden Vale is a caring, nurturing and hard working school community with the children at the heart of all we do. We had a SIAMs inspection during June 2016 which gave the school a good outcome and as a school we are awaiting an OFSTED inspection.

At Marden Vale we have worked hard on embedding our one school rule-

'We all look after each other'

and we continually strive for all of us to show this, at all times during our time in class, in school and in our lives outside of school. By following this rule and by having a positive ethos, we are all committed to ensuring children have a wide array of learning experiences, helping children to attain to the best of their abilities, and develop them so they are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to become fantastic members of their community.

We aim to work with our children to enable them to :

  • leave school with happy memories and a feeling of pride,
  • have high self-esteem, self-confidence, independence and resilience,
  • make and maintain relationships and work co-operatively with others,
  • develop lively, flexible and enquiring minds that are open to new ideas,
  • develop, in a balanced way, spiritual, moral, social, cultural, personal and academic qualities - and thus prepare them for the wider world,
