Egremont Primary School, Wirral
Egremont Primary is a happy, warm school with a strong heritage. Well established at the heart of its community in Wirral, the catchment includes some of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the UK. Notwithstanding the challenges this brings, we think we’re doing lots of things right: the school is popular, and our reputation is strong. We’re committed to raising the aspirations and expectations of the whole school community, and we’re trusted to achieve the very best outcomes for local children. An experienced and effective interim Headteacher is currently in place, and is overseeing a wide-ranging programme of school improvement.
Our new Headteacher will have a key role to play within and beyond the school, being visible and accessible to colleagues within the academy, across the Trust, and to parents and carers. You’ll build on its strengths, and instil the confidence and common purpose that will support rapid progress. In a time of change, it’s important that the school has strong, positive and clear leadership, with a distinct emphasis on improvement and establishing a shared vision to which staff can subscribe and support.
Strong candidates will bring a consistent track record of leading a school (or schools) on an improvement journey, and will have an experienced appreciation of the key challenges involved. The ability to build successful relationships and to nurture a cohesive and consistent sense of purpose and ambition will be key. Your analytical approach, coupled with an adaptable leadership style, will enable you to quickly evaluate and determine priorities, and then work with others to build momentum and capacity.
