Hexagon Care Services is a forward thinking and privately owned National Provider of Children’s Services. Within the services they offer, they run 8 small independent schools which educate boys and girls between 11 and 18 which cater for pupils with a range of complex needs. All schools are rated either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.


Sycamore House School is situated on the same site as Sycamore House children’s home, the school is registered with the Department for Education to educate four boys or girls aged 11 – 18 years who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.  The home and school will work in close partnership to provide a holistic package of support which will include care, therapy and education.  At KS3 the school will offer a broad and balanced education in line with the national curriculum. At KS4 the school will offer a range of accreditation including ASDAN, Entry Level and Functional Skills.  There is the option to study GCSEs for the more academically able pupils. 

As the Headteacher of this re-opened school, you will be energized by the chance to lead and guide the school on its new direction. From September 2019, the school will be a four place ASD school for students aged 11 - 18 years.

 

We are looking for a Headteacher who will bring great leadership, passion and vision to developing and delivering high quality education.

You will:

• Have experience of working in/running an ASD school previously

• Have QTS status – qualified to teach KS3/4 Science or Maths 

• The ability to teach ICT would be advantageous

• Hold a full clean driving license

 Our small independent schools educate boys and girls aged 11-17.The schools with their experienced head teachers and staff teach many pupils with a range of complex needs, who have struggled in previous educational placements.

A varied education

At Key Stage 3, we offer a broad, balanced, relevant education in keeping with the National Curriculum. The range of subjects is varied to make sure everyone gets an education tailored to their exact needs. At Key Stage 4, pupils can then choose to study a range of externally accredited courses, including Entry Level, Functional Skills, ASDAN and GCSE. Our Schools may also liaise with alternative providers to create a truly personal, needs-led curriculum.
