ABC Teachers are seeking a Qualified Health and Social Care Teachers for a secondary setting in Leicester city centre. This is a long term; full time position starting as soon as possible and initially lasting until the end of the academic year in 2017 although does have the possibility of being advertised as a permanent role later.

This position is for an independent specialist school for young people aged 14 to 19 years. This is a growing training centre that focuses on vocational subjects that students can enjoy. The centre was purpose built in 2013 and since then has only grown. Students within this training centre get the opportunity to go into different workplaces and schools to utilise the skills that they have learnt. Varied programmes can be provided for students, which can include sessions in either one skill area or across several areas. Timetables can include enrichment and development sessions including sports and active lifestyle, personal development and work skills, all of which can lead to an additional qualification. Students will complete B-tec qualifications and GCSE’s while onsite.

The centre is a vibrant and successful City School where students have personalised and individualized programmes to support the young person to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.

ABC Teachers are looking someone who is able to multitask, has a keen interest with SEN pupils and also has had previous experience with SBD Schools.

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

·               Be eligible to work in the UK (must have a valid visa if applicable)

·               Must hold relevant teaching qualifications (Bachelor of Education / PGCE)

·               Have previous experience teaching within an SEN setting

·               Have excellent communication skills

·               Have a creative approach to learning

·               Possess valid references, DBS/police checks or be willing to undertake them

·               A valid Team Teach certificate is desirable although not essential as training will be given

·               Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills 

·               Ability to use own initiative and to work successfully as part of a team

Candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview to register; we will need to gain two references (academic/professional) and hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate (or be prepared to allow us to process one for you).
