Do you want to work in a good school where leadership is highly effective, students feel safe, staff are proud and morale is extremely high? - Ofsted 2019

Outwood Grange Academies Trust seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.

Outwood Academy Acklam places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. In a recent Ofsted inspection, we were graded good and we are still improving to become outstanding. This is an opportunity for you to join us on this journey.

The main purpose of this role is to provide First Aid and medical assistance to staff and pupils during the academy day, whilst playing a key role in their ongoing health and welfare. Other responsibilities include accompanying students to hospital and home whenever necessary, logging incidents and maintaining databases and supplies. The successful applicant must be a qualified first aider, enthusiastic and empathetic. Experience of working in a school environment is desirable.

The role will involve liaising with colleagues on issues and to share information, so good communication skills are essential.

In line with Government guidance we are currently limiting access to our academy. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In some instances, we may use remote processes in place of academy-based interviews and therefore we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.

Understandably, visits to the school may be limited at present, however we are really keen to ensure that you have as much information to proceed with your application as possible, so if you would like a conversation about either the academy or the position please contact Jess Lamplough, HR Assistant on j.lamplough@acklam.outwood.com and we will be happy to assist.

If you have any questions, please contact j.lamplough@acklam.outwood.com

For more information and to apply online, please go to: www.outwood.com > Careers. CVs will not be accepted as part of our recruitment process.

Closing date: Midday on 2 November 2020.

We reserve the right to close advertisements early. Advertisements will therefore close at 12 noon, either on the advertised closing date, or the day the decision has been taken to close the advertisement early.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
