Health Officer

We are looking for a Health Officer to effectively take charge of the day-to-day health of each student within the Academy.

Your opportunity

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the first point of contact in respect of administering first aid for both students and staff within the school, and the named responsible officer for all first aid matters
  • Managing the register of suitably qualified first aiders within the Academy, ensuring that there are sufficient qualified staff to assist in the administration of emergency first aid
  • Administration of all student medication at the Academy
  • Delivering the specific medical related needs of students as defined within their individual Statements of Additional Needs
  • Administration of the programme of student medical examinations, assessments and inoculations as required
  • Promoting health education in partnership with the teaching/support staff and the Health Authority
  • Ensuring that the highest possible standards of clinical procedures are maintained

What we are looking for

  • A recognised First Aid qualification or higher education qualification
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Competent ICT skills

Harris Academy Chafford Hundred is a co-educational 11-18 Academy for 1000 students which opened in September 2011.
