Due to the impending retirement of the current post holder the City of Bristol College are seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager to build on and develop quality systems and procedures within a professional College environment.
Reporting to the Director of Estates and Infrastructure you will be the main professional advisor and coordinator for Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues in developing the strategic direction and related objectives, to support and enable the College strategic planning. You will also be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are compliant with legislation and manage and develop a small team, advising, monitoring and auditing compliance within all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Safety throughout the College’s provision.
Essential requirements for the role are to hold the following:
- Degree or equivalent in a technical or environmental subject.
- NEBOSH Diploma or have achieved chartered status of IOSH
- Level 3 Fire Safety Risk Assessment qualification
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate a proven record of managing health safety and wellbeing and working with managers, staff and TU Health and Safety Representatives to manage change.
The successful candidate will be required to attend the College on 8th February 2017 for a Strategic Health and Safety Session with the Strategic Leadership Team in the morning starting at 0830 followed by a presentation to middle managers. Travel expenses and accommodation will be paid if appropriate.
The interview will include a short presentation which will be sent to candidates selected for the interview process. Formal interview plus informal session with members of the Team, TU H&S Reps and Lead Governor will form part of the interview process.
