Robert College is seeking candidates for:

High School English, 9th-12th grades (Full Time)

Successful candidates must:

  • Have a B.A. or B.S. in the subject to be taught and a recognized teaching qualification to teach high school in that subject area. Both the degree and teaching qualification are required for approval by the Turkish Ministry of Education.
  • Preferably have a minimum of five years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Be committed to teaching a variety of learning styles and have an approach which enables students to develop their potential.
  • Be ready to play a full and active role in the continual development of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Be committed to caring for student well-being in all its aspects.
  • Have the ability and willingness to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school.
  • Work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues.
  • Be innovative in using new technology to enhance learning.
  • Be a collaborative planner, able to develop projects and resources across subject disciplines.
  • Be interested in developing the 21st-century skills and qualities of every student

About Robert College (İstanbul Amerikan Robert Lisesi)

Robert College is a mixed, non-denominational secondary school situated in Istanbul, Turkey. It is an independent boarding and day school and a member of the G20 Schools group, an association of 50 secondary schools from 20 countries around the world that have an annual conference to discuss key issues facing education. It teaches in the languages of both Turkish and English. The school educates 1,041 students between grades 9-12, 185 of whom are boarders and from 46 different provinces across Turkey and around the world.

Accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools, Robert College is the oldest continuously-running American school founded outside of the States themselves. It opened in 1863 as a boys-only school. In 1871, The American College for Girls was formed, a school that would amalgamate together with the boys’ school to become the co-educational Robert College. In 2004, the primary school closed to make Robert College the secondary school it is today.
