YK Pao School is a pioneering international Chinese school, educating 1,200 students aged 5 to 18 from China and overseas on three state-of-the-art campuses in central Shanghai and the Songjiang District of Shanghai. Since opening in 2007, the School has developed a unique Chinese-English bilingual programme that integrates Shanghai and international curricula and prepares its students to become engaged and responsible global citizens. It has a deserved reputation and is highly over-subscribed.
The Board seeks an exceptional educationalist to lead the High School for pupils in Years 9 to 12, located in Shanghai’s Songjiang District, which offers a UK/US-style boarding and day education. The appointee will build on the School’s growing reputation for developing the whole person, internationalism and passing on the traditions of Chinese culture, inspiring the entire community to even greater success.
The successful candidate will be a charismatic, highly academic and adaptable leader, with a keen interest in bilingual education and curriculum development. He or she will have a track record of senior leadership experience (not necessarily gained in China), first class academic abilities, an evident interest in young people’s learning and excellent communication skills. A willingness to collaborate effectively with the Primary and Middle School Principals is essential, as is a profound resonance with YK Pao’s values of compassion, integrity and balance.
