Job overview

Uxbridge College has excellent facilities for the delivery of Engineering, and this is an exciting time to join our highly successful team.  This newly created role of High Skills Technician for Electrical/Electronic Engineering will support our higher education delivery and the West London Institute of Technology, which offers a range of higher education programmes.  


You will work within the Electrical/Electronic Engineering area including the Power and Robotics Lab, PLCs and Mechatronics Lab, Electronics Lab and LN Experiements Lab.   You will provide assistance to lecturers in preparing equipment and resources for teaching and learning, be responsible for maintaining tool and equipment to an efficient level and carry out risk assessments, ensuring all aspects of health and safety are complied with. 


You will need to possess a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, together with at least 2 years’ experience with electrical equipment, PLCs and mechatronics. You will need to have a good understanding of health and safety requirements and the ability to communicate and work effectively with young people.  




The College has recently introduced a Working from Home policy. You may be able to work a proportion of your work time from home. Working from Home may be possible where this does not adversely impact on the operational needs of the College.
