We have an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support the English Department. You will be joining a thriving team who deliver innovative and enjoyable lessons to students who really want to learn.

Key duties will include:

  • Advancing students’ learning in a range of settings including working 1:1 and small groups.
  • Working closely with the Head of English and team members regarding preparation of resources, and delivery of learning activities.

We are looking for someone who is organised, flexible in their approach and has proven experience of supporting students at secondary school level in English. The ideal candidate will be able to empathise with students’ learning needs and contribute to their learning goals, whilst encouraging independence.

An ability to differentiate, communicate and adjust to the learning styles of identified students and excellent motivational skills are essential. HLTA status and/or experience in supporting students with dyslexia is desirable, but not essential. In return for your hard work you will receive exceptional support and training, and the rewards that come with supporting students who really want to learn.

Hinchley Wood School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school based in Surrey, for students between the ages of 11 and 18. It gained academy status in 2012 and multi academy status in 2019 - Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership.  In October 2019 Hinchley Wood Primary School joined the Partnership.
