Job overview

Hours/Percentage of Week: 35

Weeks per year: 39

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic HLTA, committed to developing children’s love of learning, who has high standards and the ability to challenge all children. You will be a strong team player who will contribute to the wider life of the school, have excellent communication skills and be able to work positively with children, parents and staff. We can offer you a supportive environment, opportunities for continued professional development and the chance to be part of a team on a journey towards becoming ‘outstanding’.

As a HLTA you will teach individuals, groups and whole classes either on your own or in the presence of a teacher and/or teaching assistant. You will cover classes, without the presence of a teacher, in the event of planned or unplanned absence of teachers in the school.  This will include covering PPA and Subject Leader release.

St Augustine of Canterbury is a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted April 2015) and an ‘Outstanding’ church school (SIAMS June 2015).  We are a one form entry school, serving a varied and diverse community.  We celebrate the rich experiences gained from a range of different cultures within our school.  Our children are lively and keen to learn.  They have good relationships with each other and enjoy school.  They follow the St Augustine Code, underpinned by our core Christian values.

The school is a member of the Trinitas Academy Trust, a collaboration of one secondary school and five primary schools. All the schools are working together in close partnership in order to provide the best opportunities for Children and Staff alike.

Trinitas Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks.

Trinitas Academy Trust is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.
