Higher Level Teaching Assistant  Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Academy 

(Fixed Term 1 year post to start 1 September 2018) Scale 5 (Points 22 -25) Full Time Equivalent Salary: £21,074 - £23,111 Actual Salary based on working pattern: £16,973 - £18,945 

Working pattern: 8.30 am – 4pm Monday –Friday Term Time + 5 training days   

The Local Governing Body of Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Academy wish to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 2 to overcome barriers to learning.   

As Higher Level Teaching Assistant, the successful candidate will work under supervision to take the lead role to address the needs of pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning by delivering interventions and in class support in Key Stage 2.  

The successful applicant will: 

• Have a HLTA qualification or equivalent qualification or experience 

• Have experience of successful interventions with pupils to improve progress and participation 

• Be able to provide evidence of relevant and recent professional development • Have well developed interpersonal skills and ability to liaise sensitively enabling effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents and outside agencies 

• Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills. 

• Support the Catholic life of the school by fully sharing in the Catholic ethos of the school
