Your new school

Gretton School is an independent specialist school for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, specifically high functioning autism. We welcome students from 5—19 years old, as weekly boarders or as day students. Based just outside Cambridge, we work with 12 counties to provide a broad and individualised education for these unique and wonderful students. The school is growing and developing, it’s integrated therapeutic team are working tirelessly alongside the management team and the teaching and support staff to further develop our fantastic practise and outcomes. Your new role

We are looking for exceptional people to work with our exceptional students. We are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for maternity cover. The successful candidate will have the ability to support teaching across KS3 and to work with the class teacher to complete annual review paperwork and reports.


What you'll need to succeed

  • HLTA Qualification (or willingness to complete)
  • GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in both Maths and English
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of Autism as well as a broad knowledge of strategies used for teaching students with ASC
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to adapt to change quickly

Gretton School is a specialist day and residential school for children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC), specifically high functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.

The school provides individually tailored programmes of education, care and therapy for students between the ages of 5 and 19 years old.
