Vision for Education are actively recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has experience and is confident working with Key Stage 3 & 4 students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist unit in Northumberland which provides education & support on either on a 1:1 or small group basis to children and young adults with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. Versatility and adaptability are extremely desirable attributes for this role as due to the nature of the unit, you may be required to cover a variety of subjects.

An empathetic, calm and motivated personality is required to achieve progress with students who regularly demonstrate challenging behaviour. You must be confidence in your ability to quickly form strong bonds with children and young adults with mental health difficulties.

  • The ideal applicant will have previous experience working with people with mental health issues.
  • Applicants must hold a current DBS registered on the online update service.
  • Applicants must be available 5 days a week and be able to work in Northumberland. Due to the location of this unit, having access to a car would be highly desirable.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and meet all national safeguarding criteria.
