Job overview

Join us and be a part of our SEN team, working with students who experience difficulties in accessing the science curriculum.

The objective of this post is to boost the scientific skills, alongside numeracy and literacy skills, of targeted students so they can access the science curriculum. The needs of the targeted students will vary; some will have special educational needs such as Dyslexia or ASD.

Joining us, you would generally work with small groups of students within the main classroom to ensure students’ progress and to boost their confidence. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering group work or team teaching with the main class teacher. As with all HLTAs, you will be expected to progress students’ learning and, with other professionals’ support, pupils’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing.

To be successful, you will have qualifications in Maths/Numeracy or English/Literacy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2. An HLTA qualification or evidence of working at this level would be advantageous.

This is a maternity contract with the potential to extend.

Closing date: 15th July 2019, however early applications are encouraged as we review applications as we receive them.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community. Homewood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
