We have an exciting new opportunity at Caludon Castle School to appoint a resourceful and highly effective higher level teaching assistant to work within the Technology faculty. In the last couple of years Caludon has invested into the student support team and actually increased the number of support staff to ensure the young people in our school achieve their full potential. This is a brand new role which you can develop to make ‘your own’
You will be enthusiastic and motivated about Technology and determined to help students develop their own enthusiasm. The faculty enjoys excellent dedicated teaching bases comprising well-equipped food technology and product design classrooms.
This is a unique opportunity where you will supervise an apprentice to deliver effective and efficient support for the learning and teaching of Food Technology. In addition you will provide specialist support in a traditional teaching assistant capacity, enabling you to glean good practice from colleagues and teachers. You will also organise timetabled intervention and support for an identified cohort of students, whilst acting as a ‘faculty ambassador’ to support the planning and resourcing for all subjects in Technology.
You will be approachable, resilient and able to support our vulnerable students as well as our most able, encouraging them to become independent learners. This post would ideally suit a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant, however if you would be willing to undertake an HLTA qualification, we would welcome an application from an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to enter teaching. (As the position would offer school based experience prior to applying for a PGCE or School Direct opportunity)
Through the leader in our student support faculty, we provide comprehensive induction training so that you can shadow other staff, get a really good understanding of our systems and policies and have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know our students during your induction programme.
Caludon Castle has a great deal to be proud of; we are a caring school that achieves high standards. We have excellent resources in a modern, well equipped building, with a well-planned IT infrastructure and outstanding sports facilities. We offer a range of benefits which includes cycle to work and childcare voucher schemes, discounted gym membership, free parking and an employee discount scheme.
If this is the next step you have been looking for and would like to make a difference then come and see us in action and find out more about what this role can offer. If you would like to discuss this post further or arrange a school visit, please contact the Emma Over by email on email@example.com Visits to the school prior to application are strongly encouraged and will be warmly welcomed.
Application packs are available from the HR team HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk or visit Caludon Castle’s website www.caludoncastle.co.uk or www.wmjobs.co.uk to download further details. Application forms to be returned to HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk
