At Poltair School, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced and highly motivated, yet supportive environment. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards for behaviour, engagement and academic outcomes. Poltair is a school steeped in history on an exponential journey of success, supported as part of Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT), a family of Cornish Primary and Secondary Schools, with a strategic vision to ‘learn together to help every child achieve more’. This is an exciting time to join our large, dynamic Trust, which is responsible for educating learners across four secondary schools, one junior school and nine primary schools. There are extensive opportunities to work collaboratively with experienced professionals and leaders across the Trust with unparalleled CPD and career development prospects for all.

We are looking to appoint dynamic and enthusiastic HLTAs to support students across our SEN and curriculum provision. The successful candidates will be able to use their initiative and support students to access learning across the curriculum, using their expertise to support class teachers in the practical organisation of activities and small group work. There are a number of positions available, with specialisms within Literacy, Numeracy or Autism Support being desirable, but not essential. Appropriate professional development and training will be given to the successful candidate to enable professional growth with the aim of supporting our students to become successful, independent learners who will reach their potential.

If you are interested in applying for this position and wish to have an informal conversation, please contact Joe McGovern (Trust Lead SENDCo) via email: jmcgovern@celtrust.org

Cornwall Education Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check and, where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). This means that certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed to employers and, if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-guidance-on-the-rehabilitation-of-offenders-act-1974
