About the School

Jumeirah College is a GEMS Premium Secondary School which delivers the National Curriculum for England, offering the full range of GCSE and A level courses. The College has been repeatedly judged to be Outstanding in inspections. Although non-selective at admission, our students achieve exceptional exam results which compare to top UK schools. In 2017 90% of GCSE results were A*-B, and at A level 54% of all grades were A*/A with 83% A*-B. This success enables our students to move on to the very top universities around the world, including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and Yale.

Our student body is a dynamic international community of over 1,100 students from over 65 nationalities. About the Role

From September 2019 we are looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of History & Politics to join the College. 

The successful candidate will work in an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and successful. In 2018 the results in KS4 were outstanding with 81% of students receiving 9-7 (A*-A) grades in the first 9-1 GCSE examination. KS5 – 20% A* - A, 75% A* - B, 100% A*-C.

The opportunities which History & Politics present for students is central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.

The successful applicant will have the following:

A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge and experience of leading a high performing teaching team.
Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level or equivalent.  We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching. 
At least 2 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England. 
To be considered for these posts you must hold a B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent. The successful applicant will possess the willingness to commit to Extra Curricular activities.
