The Henry Beaufort School is an 11-16 comprehensive school situated on the outskirts of Winchester. In 2016, 74% of students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including Maths and English. The History department is part of The Humanities faculty within the school. The faculty work collaboratively to deliver the curriculum through a high standard of teaching & learning. History lessons are conducted in specialist classrooms and the subject is popular with our students. The new GCSE has allowed us to increase the breadth of what is studied at GCSE, combining Modern World History, History of Medicine and Anglo- Saxon History for an engaging and exciting curriculum. We offer excellent NQT and CPD support and the person appointed will enjoy the wholehearted support of all the staff within the school. All NQTs are assigned an induction mentor, who ensures that they are progressing in line with the teacher standards.
