Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience required for this position is QTS.

We are looking to recruit a History Teacher on behalf of a large high performing Secondary School and Sixth Form based in East Sussex.  They are looking to appoint two History Teachers to commence this January 2022. Both positions are full time and will be for the remainder of the current academic year. 

The desired History Teachers will be planning and delivering History lessons to students aged 11 - 16. You will be required to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 History, with the addition of one timetable having PRE. 

About the school:

You would be joining an oversubscribed Ofsted rated 'Good' (2020) school with significant evidence that the school could be judged as outstanding on their recent inspection.  With around 1,500 pupils on roll, they're a large setting with really promising humanities uptake at both GCSE and A-Level.  Pupils benefit from an excellent all-around education and are seen to achieve very highly, with an above-average Progress 8 score (2019). The successful History teacher will deliver Edexcel GCSE History and if you have the ability, Philosophy, Religion and Ethics would also be incorporated into the timetable. 

To be considered for the History Teacher role, you will:        

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have recent teaching experience in History up to GCSE level. 
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team.
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills.     
  • Ability to relate to, and communicate with, students in and out of the classroom.

Interview Process - Video Interview to register with Vision for Education, followed by a formal interview with observation with the school.
