The Cavendish School is very proud to be relaunching as a brand new academy in September 2018, as part of the Future Academies Trust. The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher with a commitment to professional development. You will be responsible for ensuring every student achieves academic excellence.

To support the relaunch of the school, the Headteacher is providing five full INSET days at the start of the academic year. This will provide the opportunity for every teacher to have comprehensive training around all aspects of their role in order to start the year feeling confident and fully prepared.

As we join Future Academies we will need to grow our EBacc offer in our curriculum throughout the school. With this in mind and a higher intake for our Year 7 in September 2018, we will need to increase our staff body in certain subjects.

We are looking for an enthusiastic History specialist to join our successful and collaborative Humanities team. As a faculty we are committed to innovative teaching and ensuring students realize their full potential.

We pride ourselves on high standards of Teaching and Learning and having high expectations of student behaviour and progress. Staff work collaboratively and cohesively to plan and deliver academically rigorous, knowledge-based lessons that will engage and challenge our students. Most importantly, are committed to embedding and developing critical thinking skills and academic independence across all key stages, enabling students to succeed not only in their examinations but also beyond their academic careers.

We currently teach the AQA specification at GCSE and Edexcel for A Level.

The successful candidate will be able to teach at all Key Stages including at A level. You will need to be able to deliver engaging and challenging lessons, providing students with the feedback they need to improve. They would be expected to be an active member of the team, responsible for delivering and sharing a high standard of teaching and learning. The new member of the faculty needs to be flexible in their approach and committed to bringing out the best in all students.

The successful candidate will also be a part of a supportive and dedicated Humanities faculty, working as a team in its approaches to planning and practice. We also have a strong commitment to staff welfare and professional development with an induction programme for all staff and we welcome applications from experienced or newly qualified teachers.
