Job overview

King’s College Latvia is an International school situated on the outskirts of the historic and culturally vibrant capital of Riga. Riga is a wonderful place to live for many reasons.

1. It is close to the beach resort of Jurmala which boasts 26KM of coastline and golden sand similar to that which you would find in the Caribbean

2. It is a capital city but small enough to move around on foot and bicycle with a population of 650,000

3. English is widely spoken

4. Latvians are very creative people and music, dance, art and theatre are well represented in the city

5. Living in Latvia you get to experience all four seasons!

The Latvia tourist board calls it Magnetic Latvia as the country pulls you in and many of our team have been with us since we opened the school. The school has a very low annual staff turnover.

Established four years ago King’s College Latvia has grown rapidly in student numbers and this year completed an ambitious second stage of building which means we now have a secondary wing featuring specialist teaching rooms for science, Music, Art and drama. The wing also has a purpose built library with space for study and browsing.

With the new building we have also extended our sporting offering with outside facilities, a swimming pool and a large multi-purpose indoor gymnasium. King’s College is ideally placed for learning outside of the classroom with many places of historical interest and museums close by. We encourage learning outside of the classroom and as well as the school grounds we have a private forest which can be used to support curricular learning.

We are one of the leading international schools in the Baltics.  However as well as facilities we also prioritise academic achievement and pastoral care and all our team are expected to share our values in these areas.

Due to expansion we are now seeking a specialist History teacher.

The school follows the English National Curriculum in Primary, we then work towards IGCSEs in KS3 and KS4 followed by the IBDP in Years 12 and 13.

About King’s College Latvia

The school has opened its doors in August 2017 and is the first British school in the country. Sitting on a site occupying 20,000 m2 within the Saliena development in Riga, Latvia’s capital city, the school will offer the local and surrounding communities the opportunity to benefit from a quality British education, the hallmark of King’s College.
