The role

The College is seeking a qualified and experienced History Teacher to join the Secondary School on a permanent, full-time basis from Term 1, 2019.

About you

You will:

• Be willing to support the ethos and values of the College

• Be an effective classroom teacher with recent Stages 4, 5 and 6 experience                  

• Have extensive knowledge of the NESA History Curriculum, specifically Modern History

• Facilitate differentiated teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of a range of learners

• Demonstrate effective use of summative and formative assessment to inform practice

• Have experience of integrating digital technologies 

• Have a portfolio of innovative approaches to teaching and learning 

• Engage in reflective practice and a culture of improvement

• Be confident in differentiating the curriculum in the classroom

• Be a collaborative member of a teaching team

• Be committed to supporting student wellbeing

• Have demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement 

• Be willing to actively participate in the College’s coaching program and culture 

• Possess the ability to demonstrate professional conduct and discretion at all times.

The College consists of five separate schools – Preparatory, Junior, Middle, Upper and Senior, on 20 landscaped hectares. Each school caters to the different stages of learning and has a focus on Personalised Education and the wellbeing of each individual student. Students enjoy a variety of first-class facilities including: state-of-the-art Aquatic and Fitness Centre with a 50m swimming and diving pool, weights area, cardio machines and athlete tracking software; sporting fields; tennis and netball courts; hockey fields; gymnasium; 750-seat performing arts centre; agriculture plot; libraries; and buildings dedicated to specialised subjects such as art, music, languages and the sciences.

Curriculum

Pymble Ladies’ College offers a wide range of subjects in accordance with the NSW Education Standards Authority. Students also have the opportunity to study co-curricular subjects such as robotics, filmmaking, dance and art. Specialised programs, including the Pymble Elite Sportswomen’s Program, Pymble Musicians’ Program and the Sokratis Program for high potential learners, as well as overseas exchanges and tours, ensure students have every chance to follow their passions and excel.
