Job overview

We are pleased to be advertising for a History teacher to join our great team. History is one of our popular GCSE option subjects at Key Stage 4 and we are now enhancing this further as we develop our post-16 offer which will include History for the second year in a row at A-Level. To deliver the subject well we need an additional teacher who can work to inspire our students to continue to develop a love of History.

History is taught in a dedicated Humanities block and benefits from access to the latest Clevertouch interactive technology. To join this team you need to be a qualified History teacher who is keen to teach both GCSE and A-Level. You will need to be hardworking, dedicated to ensuring students of all abilities can succeed and, crucially, a great classroom teacher.  We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those who will be ECTs. The Curriculum Leader oversees an experienced team of staff and this would be a strong set of colleagues to start a teaching career working alongside.

For ECTs interested in applying we are delivering the Early Career Framework in partnership with the Ambition Institute as their coaching model complements well the established coaching practices we have in the school for all teaching staff.

Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with.

If you are interested in finding out more then please read the welcome letter from our Headteacher and feel free to visit the school in advance of applying.

We welcome applications from colleagues who may wish to be considered in a part-time/job share capacity and are happy to explore flexible working arrangements.

If you would like to contribute to our exciting future please visit our website at www.slougheton.com in the vacancy section for further details and application pack or contact our HR Advisor, Beverly Glanville for an application form using vacancies@slougheton.com. CVs alone will not be  accepted as a valid application.

Closing date 9am, Friday 10 June 2022.

Interviews w/c 13 June 2022.

We reserve the right to interview promising candidates prior to this date if applications are received early.

We are, of course, committed to safeguarding the welfare of our students and staff and will conduct all necessary DBS checks as part of our recruitment process.

About Slough and Eton CE Business and Enterprise College

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.

As a Church of England school we welcome pupils from all faiths, foster a culture of tolerance and understanding throughout the school and are always delighted to show visitors the fantastic things that happen here.  We have a thriving and growing Sixth Form and enjoy using excellent facilities.  If you are interested in finding out more about our school then please do come and visit us.  I would be delighted to show you around, along with some pupils and give you the opportunity to talk informally with some staff about what it is like to work at the school.

Mr Peter Collins
